ACTIONS/DISCUSSION

1. New Operating Budget approved, with no change to current assessments

2. 2017 improvements completed

- Re-landscaped Nightstar Court island

- Pruning and fertilization in the islands/common areas (used Bartlett)

- Planning to continue doing improvements to island common areas in 2018

3. Social & neighborhood activities will be picked up by a new chair

4. Neighborhood directory is being updated and Facebook Page continues

5. Exterior changes:

- Board asks everyone to submit for DRB approval if doing anything on your exterior – even if it is within the approved standard, there are many variables to consider and it is strongly advised to get DRB approval (especially for big ticket items including siding, paint, roof, deck, and fencing)

- If making a change within the cluster standard, you can request “staff approval” to speed the process

6. Exterior light fixtures

- 3-bulb standard approved for the post lamp is too big

- Working with Reston Association to add the 2-bulb option

7. General Reminders:

Reston Association reviews homes for things that are out of standard – if doing any changes/additions that are not in our cluster standard, RA may block the sale of your home

Please keep post lights lit as we do not have any street lights in the neighborhood

8. Cluster communications:

Website: http://www.wescottwoods.moonfruit.com

FaceBook page: @WescottWoodsReston; for discretionary comms and announcements/events (eg, swaps and sales)

Neighbors website (you have to sign up; people post things like handyman recommendations)

PLEASE MAINTAIN YOUR POST LAMPS IN WORKING ORDER. THERE ARE NO STREETLIGHTS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND WE DEPEND UPON POST LAMPS FOR LIGHTING AND SAFETY
